PWC(Jet Skis)

This is the Sea Doo HX 720 that I used to race. I started racing with a friend who had been racing professionally for a year. He was more talented and dedicated than I was and ended up at the World Finals in Lake Havasu Arizona last year. He ranked 25th in the world while racing his fully prepped Yamaha GP1200. I never made it that far...not even close! I raced in our region(region 8) which encompases all of New England. I had a good time racing for 2 years, but with that as my only income things got tight and riding became a job more than a recreation. I gave up that sport to get a real job and make a better living. This was of course a hard decision, but without making that decision I would have never discovered Motorcycling. Anyway about the "ski"...it had a Factory Pipe, Solas Prop, Intake Grate and Ride Plate, UMI motorcross style handlebars, finger throttle, sponsons....

This is the other "ski" that I raced. It is a Yamaha SuperJet 701. It was prepped similiar to the HX. It had a Factory Pipe, Solas Prop, Intake Grate, Ride Plate.....It was a great machine, almost to much power to handle in a stand up machine. It definately provided for a good workout. The picture and the one above were both taken at a race venue we frequented. It is a "waterski competion pond" that some guy dug for competions. It was a huge failure finacially; until Jet Ski racing came around. It was perfect for the sport class(Sea Doo HX, Yamaha Waveblaster) and the Stand Up class(Yamaha SuperJet, Kawasaki 750Sxi..); it was a little to small for the Runabout class though(Yamaha GP1200, SeaDoo XP Limited...).The "pond" was a mile round(oval actually) and the guy who dug it knew exactly how many gallons it held, I didn't remember the figure though. The guy who dug it is sitting on the table in the first picture. If you have any racing pictures or EXTREME doings on a "ski" send them to us and the will be posted.
